SAN MARZANO TOMATOES

From a small town outside Naples, Italy, come the best tomatoes on earth. They are grown in the rich volcanic soil at the base of Mount Vesuvius, which gives them a sweet flavor and low acidity and they are coveted for their firm pulp, deep red color, easy to remove skin.

OUR STORY

Once upon a time there was a very humble Pizzeria in suburban Melbourne, largely responsible for the start of the Pizza Revolution. It was 1997 and the pizza battle lines were drawn.

With a move to Carlton and the opening of our iconic Espresso Bar, evolution ensued. The modern Italian Gastronome D.O.C. began to grow with the opening of its flagship D.O.C. Carlton and the opening of a beautiful concept store in Mornington. The authentic D.O.C. Delicatessen in Carlton soon followed and a romance with Albert Park initiated with the recent opening of D.O.C. Albert Park.

Award winning Artisan Pizza may be our platform but the real theatre is provided by the unashamedly Italian D.O.C. team.
